Another painting for you all. I'd say about 4-5 hours on this one. I still have a long ways to go, but seeing some big improvements over my last painting. The clouds are so, so. I've gotta get my technique down for those. Tried to bump my colors up a little bit, you know how I is.

Used an old Terragen render of mine for reference. All painted in Photoshop.

Let me know what you all's be thinking about it

This is a pretty good landscape sure it is rough, but man is it detailed as I see specific lighting and shading areas, bright as the sun goes behind some high level cumulus clouds. The grass is a bit rough and more like a carpet, but it still has a texture to so it has something to it. Considering this is all done by hand I see it as done quite well, even from a program reference. :)

Woah there! Crazy improvements already!  The colour variance has brought this piece to life, especially with the way light is shafting through the clouds. My favourite touch this time around is all the grass in the foreground, it has some great texturing going on. A+!! The tree on the right also has the perfect shape/silhouette. The reflections/shadows on the water are also excellent and hold their shape/realism very well.

Points of note:
- Stray line on the right side below the main cloud
- Water itself still not quite to water stage yet, something about the lines/textures in it that throw me, but I am not skilled enough to know why.
- Trees on the left don't have any distinct layering, and the highlights on the far right tree don't lend it shape quite enough, it looks a little on the flat side
- Clouds have hella improved, look at those beauties! The main one is the best, the other two don't have the right shape/texturing quite yet. However, the lighting on them is spot on.
- Texture of the farground (is that the right word?!) also does not quite have enough shape, but the colour is spot on again.

You made so much improvement between 1 and 2! I eagerly await 3!

beautiful piece. It sure looks alien somehow, seems a bit too clean or empty somehow. Nice range of hues and lighting

Ok, now I'm publicly jealous.

How in the world did you do that lighting. HOW… Ffff…
Also, if you wouldn't mind explaining to me how rendering helps that'd be great too.

So the critiques we talked about some for 001 was loss of detail in the foreground and a mute color palette. I definitely think you improved on these things. You even got the detail part without a bunch of plant stuff to hide it. ;-) Lighting is realistic and highlights the brighter color palette.

Looks like you're still working on clouds, so yeah, focus on that and go for it. I won't give advice, since you've got enough of that from others at this point.

Looking forward to the next one - keep it up!
